The major temples in Chengde are all Tibetan. Notably, however, after visiting every temple, I did
not see a single monk wearing the traditional garb such as that seen in Xiahe. But more on that a little
further in the series. In any case, the prayer wheels are traditional of Tibetan Buddhism, and the
characters are Tibetan, not Chinese.
