I've always been moved by this image. It was the subject of an art project of mine in high school. This sculpture, with its massive scale, overwhelms.

I saw this sensational sculpture in ~ 1980, when I visited Oklahoma City and I am deeply impressed till today. So I'm really happy to see this successful photograph - much better than mine...

I was a regular visitor to Oklahoma City in the 1980's as an Engineer with British Aerospace who despatched Jetstream '31' aircraft to A.A.R. at Will Rogers Airport for preparation prior to Customer delivery across the U.S.A. What impressed me most about the City, apart from the friends I made at A.A.R. was this wonderful sculpture and the sad tale which inspired it.

I agree with you both -- seeing "Trail of Tears" is the most memorable moment of my visit to Oklahoma. I'm glad to know others are as moved by it as I am, and that this photo keeps that memory alive.
