Where Main Street crosses 66 the buildings on all four corners have doors that face diagonally
toward the intersection. This is the only place along Route 66 where this design occurs. People wonder
why some buildings were constructed with doors at a diagonal on the corner, it was considered an inviting
and friendly design - welcoming the shopper to the store, hotel or bank.
