The Chain of Rocks Bridge went into service in 1927. Yes, that's a bend in the span. It's currently
getting a makeover and will be reserved for foot and bicycle traffic in the future. Three towers downriver
from the bridge collect water, presumably for use by St. Louis and its suburbs. (yuck, if they're still
in service.)
